Michelin star dining in Madrid
How to eat like a royalty in Madrid? Madrid has an impressive number of restaurants graced with Michelin stars: the 2012 Michelin guide to Spain & Portugal listed six establishments with two Michelin stars and three - with one Michelin star. In comparison, Barcelona has two two-star restaurants and a whopping sixteen (!) awarded one Michelin star. Two cities are not in competition, anyway, since the grand prize – three Michelin stars – belongs to five other establishments in Spain, located in Girona, Donostia San Sebastián, Lasarte and Sant Pol de Mar. If you are planning your trip to Madrid well in advance, you have a chance of securing a reservation in some of the best dining options in the capital.
