Vacation apartments in Barcelona
Barcelona is one of the largest tourist destinations not only in Europe, but in the world. For a comfortable alternative to hotels, consider choosing short-term apartment rentals in Barcelona that constitute a successful and secure market in Europe.
Rental apartments in Barcelona cost less than hotel rooms of comparable sizes, and yet offer you a real home where you would love to come back after a day out in Barcelona.
You get all the advantages of independent living and working in a rental apartment: you may choose to cook in a fully-equipped kitchen, you may entertain guests in the living room, you have the privacy of your own bedroom. Would you have all that in a hotel? More and more travellers prefer to rent an apartment in Barcelona for these reasons.
If you frequently travel with family or friends, you know how difficult it may be to book adjacent spacious rooms in a hotel. 1-, 2- or 3-bedroom apartments in Barcelona are easy to find. What is more, you pay per apartment, not per guest, which allows you to cut rental costs considerably, and spend quality time together.
Barcelona is a city you would not want to leave and where you would love to come back, but if you are set on more exploring, we also offer apartment, cottage and villa short-term and long-term rentals all over Europe and North America!

Football and Formula One

Camp Nou Stadium

Football in Barcelona closely resembles a religion, and FC Barcelona are the gods. The Camp Nou museum and the stadium of the same name nearby are among the most visited attractions in Barcelona. The stadium Camp Nou (known as Nou Camp in the rest of Spain) was built in 1957 and restructured for the World Cup of 1982 to accommodate more spectators: today it is one of the largest stadiums in the world that can seat almost 100 000 people. The club boasts the largest fanbase across the world, as somewhere around 156 000 people support Barca officially, and the number of members continues to grow.

Fans of the great game who do not have an opportunity to go to a game of the Catalan team would find visiting the club museum worthwhile. The best parts of the collection are the photo-exhibition, the video collection of best goals, and a view of the stadium itself. For more football-savvy visitors there is also an exhibit of old table-top sports games, a leather football of 19th century and a full-size diorama of a retro dressing room, plus old posters and magazines, as well as a collection of relics devoted to foosball.

There are tours of the stadium itself that not only include the pitch, but also the team dressing rooms, the tunnel that leads to the pitch, and the president box. There are no tours on game days. The museum is open from 10 am to 1 pm.

El Clásico

The meaning of the phrase "El Clásico" is clear to any ardent football supporter regardless of club affiliation or national league preference. The world of football knows no other rivalry that would match that of the two Spanish giants, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona. Even if the team fails miserably in every other possible football competition, there is always the chance to redeem oneself in the eyes of the supporters, and that is to beat the old enemy based on two La Liga (the football league of Spain) games that happen every season.

This level of interest has something to do with sheer class of football stars who wear jerseys of both teams - no matter the state of economy or political stability, both Real and Barcelona always recruit the best of the best. Among the best known to don the kit for Real are Iker Casillas, Fernando Hierro, Raúl, Zinedine Zidane, Luís Figo, David Beckham, Ronaldo, Fabio Cannavaro, Christiano Ronaldo - this is Real Madrid. The list of stars to wear the blue and red of Barcelona is no less impressive, with such names as Josep Guardiola, Andrés Iniesta, Xavi Hernández, Carles Puyol, Ronaldinho, Samuel Eto'o, Lionel Messi.

Some agree that politics are a driving force behind the legendary rivalry of the two clubs; any foreigner sitting on the Camp Nou stands and witnessing emotions of the Barcelona fans, will see that football is not the only reason causing them. However, it is safe to assume that political tension between Catalonia and the Spanish kingdom, while still valid and important to Catalans, matters little to Fabio Cannavaro tackling Samuel Eto'o on the field.

Counting only La Liga games, the winning statistic is on Real Madrid's side: all-time score is 68-64 in favour of the Meringues. Every Clasico game is watched by over 400 million viewers worldwide: compare that to 600 million viewers who tuned in to watch the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing! Every football fan can only wish to get a chance to witness this spectacle in person from the legendary stands of Santiago Bernabeu or Camp Nou stadiums.
