Vacation apartments in Barcelona
Barcelona is one of the largest tourist destinations not only in Europe, but in the world. For a comfortable alternative to hotels, consider choosing short-term apartment rentals in Barcelona that constitute a successful and secure market in Europe.
Rental apartments in Barcelona cost less than hotel rooms of comparable sizes, and yet offer you a real home where you would love to come back after a day out in Barcelona.
You get all the advantages of independent living and working in a rental apartment: you may choose to cook in a fully-equipped kitchen, you may entertain guests in the living room, you have the privacy of your own bedroom. Would you have all that in a hotel? More and more travellers prefer to rent an apartment in Barcelona for these reasons.
If you frequently travel with family or friends, you know how difficult it may be to book adjacent spacious rooms in a hotel. 1-, 2- or 3-bedroom apartments in Barcelona are easy to find. What is more, you pay per apartment, not per guest, which allows you to cut rental costs considerably, and spend quality time together.
Barcelona is a city you would not want to leave and where you would love to come back, but if you are set on more exploring, we also offer apartment, cottage and villa short-term and long-term rentals all over Europe and North America!

Nou Barris

The district of Nou Barris is located on the northeastern side of Barcelona, bordering with Sant Andreu on the east and Horta Guinardó on the west. Nou Barris, translated from Catalan simply as "Nine neighbourhoods", has formed during the 20th century, but since 1984 has been comprised of 13 neighbourhoods instead of 9. These include: Vilapicina i la Torre Llobeta; Porta; el Turó de la Peir; Can Peguera; la Guineueta; Canyelles; les Roquetes; Verdun; la Prosperitat; la Trinitat Nova; Torre Baró; Ciutat Meridiana; Vallbona.

Nou Barris is the most multicultural district in Barcelona with the highest percentage of immigrants from Ecuador, Pakistan and the Philippines settling down here. Nou Barris also has the largest Roma (gipsy) population in the city. The district has the most affordable housing in Barcelona, both rental and for sale. One of its neighbourhoods, Can Peguera, has the lowest income index (38,4) in Barcelona, but some (Vilapicina i la Torre Llobeta and Canyelles in particular) are relatively well-to-do.

Nou Barris has several interesting sights, the main one undoubtedly being the former mental hospital, Institut Mental de la Santa Creu, built in 1886-1915 by Josep Oriol Bernadet. The hospital remained operational up until 1986. Today, its beautiful buildings are used by the district counsel of Nou Barris, the district library (la Biblioteca Popular de Nou Barris), and by several centres of assistance to residents. Nou Barris also has Parque Central de Nou Barris, one of the largest parks in Barcelona, that opened in 1999.
