Barcelona Airport

Aeropuerto de Barcelona-El Prat is located 17 km away from Barcelona, the south-western direction. The airport code is BCN. El Prat has two terminals, T1 and T2. Terminal T1 was opened in 2009, before that three terminals - A, B and C - had been operational, effectively using one building, which has been designated T2 after the opening of T1. There is still a distinction between T2A, T2B and T2C. As a general rule, international carriers are serviced by Terminal T1, whereas low-cost airlines use Terminal T2.

The bus line Aerobús connects T1 and T2 to the centre of Barcelona, mainly Plaça Catalunya. Buses depart every 5 minutes from T1 and every 10 minutes from T2, the journey takes 35 minutes.

There is a train station Aeroport, serviced by Renfe, right by the El Prat airport. The station can be accessed from Terminal T2B, and there are free shuttles running between terminals, as well as between T1 and the Renfe station directly. A train journey to the Barcelona-Sants station takes 22 minutes, and to the central stop Barcelona-Passeig de GrГ cia it is 27 minutes.
